Troubleshooting Calling and Receiving Calls Issues on V1 SIM

Try these troubleshooting steps if you are having trouble making calls while using a Ting V1 SIM.

Confirm Airplane mode is set to OFF.

iPhone Swipe down on your home screen to pull up the control center and tap on the airplane icon. If it is highlighted, tap to turn airplane mode off. 
Android Head to your Settings app > Tap Network & internet > Turn Airplane mode on or off

 

Check that Do Not Disturb is set to OFF

iPhone Swipe down to pull up the control center and check for the Do Not Disturb moon icon. If there is no moon icon, Do Not Disturb is currently turned off.
Android Swipe down from the top of your screen > Tap Do Not Disturb

Ensure you are using 10-digit dialing

We are only able to process calls using a ten-digit dialing scheme. 

Delete and Re-add the contact

Manually deleting and re-adding the contact can help ensure that the number is stored correctly in your phone.

Check the number if you are making a long-distance call

Long-distance numbers will need to use the country code and the phone number. 

Check your blocked numbers

iPhone

Settings > Phone >  tap Blocked Contacts

Android

Phone app > Settings menu > tap Block numbers

 

Check the Status of your phone number in your account

Log in to your TingMobile.com account and check that your number is currently active. 

 

Check call forwarding settings

Check that call forwarding is not enabled. To turn off all call forwarding, dial *73. 

Restart your device

Restarting your device can help refresh your connection to our cellular network.

Check that VoLTE is Enabled

iPhone

Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options or Settings > Mobile Data > Voice & Data > Enable LTE

Android

Open Settings > Tap Cellular > Tap Cellular Data Options > Click Voice & Data > VoLTE

 

Confirm your software is up to date

iPhone

Settings  > General > Software Update

Android

Open your device's Settings app > Tap System > System update

 

Remove and re-insert your SIM card

Removing and re-inserting your SIM card will perform a hard reset and refresh your connection to our cellular network.

Confirm that you are not currently roaming internationally

We currently do not support roaming outside of the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

Check your network mode

iPhone

Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options > Enable 4G > Voice& Data

Android

Settings > Tap on Connections > Tap on Mobile networks > Select Network Mode > Choose your preferred Network Mode

 

Reset your network settings

This will remove all WiFi and Bluetooth passwords.

iPhone

Settings > General > Transfer or Reset > Reset > Reset Network Settings

Android

Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth > Reset settings
