Troubleshooting Data Issues on V1 SIM

If you are having trouble using data while using a Ting V1 SIM, try these troubleshooting steps.

Confirm Airplane mode is set to OFF.

iPhone Swipe down on your home screen to pull up the control center and tap on the airplane icon. If it is highlighted, tap to turn airplane mode OFF. 
Android Head to your Settings app > Tap Network & internet > Turn Airplane mode on or off

Restart your device

Restarting your device can help refresh your connection to our cellular network.

Check the Status of your phone number in your account

Log in to your TingMobile.com account and check that your number is currently active. 

Confirm that you are not currently roaming internationally

We currently do not support roaming outside of the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

Confirm your software is up to date

iPhone

Settings  > General > Software Update

Android

Open your device's Settings app > Tap System > System update

 

Reset your network settings

This will remove all WiFi and Bluetooth passwords.

iPhone

Settings > General > Transfer or Reset > Reset > Reset Network Settings

Android

Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth > Reset settings

 

Update your Carrier settings (for iPhones only)

If you are using an iPhone, you may need to update your carrier settings.
Connect to Wi-Fi > Settings > General > About > follow the directions on the screen.

Check your network mode

iPhone

Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options > Enable 4G > Voice& Data

Android

Settings > Tap on Connections > Tap on Mobile networks > Select Network Mode > Choose your preferred Network Mode

 

Update APN Settings (for Android phones only)

If you are using an Android phone, you may need to update your APN Settings. 

Start by resetting your APNs to default:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap More networks (under Connections tab, or More, Wireless & networks, Wireless Controls, Wireless Manager, Phone Information)
  3. Tap Mobile or Cellular networks
  4. Tap Access Point Names
  5. Tap the Menu icon (3 vertical dots or 'More,' usually in the top right corner)
  6. Tap Reset to default   

Then, add your APN settings as follows using the "+" icon:

APN Type: default

APN protocol: IPV4V6

APN roaming_protocol: IPV4V6

BEARER: LTE (Make sure unspecified is not selected)
