Good news! Ting can now activate eSIM-compatible phones for V1 customers!
The activation process has been integrated within the regular activation flow, so there is very little difference. When activating a new phone, the system will still check compatibility and coverage, and assign the customer to the network that works best. For customers that have V1 as the best option for service, the website will give the option to use either a physical SIM or eSIM if it is available on their device.
Things to know:
- This is only available to customers who are using the V1 network on Ting. It is not available to customers using the X3 network
- Only phones can activate with an eSIM. Other devices like smartwatches or tablets will need to use a physical SIM to activate.
- Once activation is complete you will receive an email with two ways to finish the activation
- A code to enter on your phone
- A QR code to scan that is sent as an attachment to the email
