Voicemail is an electronic system that allows subscribers to leave and retrieve voice messages. With voicemail, callers can leave a message when you're unable to answer their call.
Note: Switching carriers, changing SIM cards, or turning your voicemail off within your Ting account Device Settings page will delete all current or saved voicemail.
To set up visual voicemail, first set up regular voicemail. Visual voicemail is covered separately.
Setting up voicemail
Voicemail is automatically on when first activating your SIM card. If the setup instructions aren't working, check your Ting account Device Settings page to enable voicemail.
- Press and hold 1 on your phone to connect to voicemail. Alternatively, you can tap the voicemail app or dial *123.
Note: When setting up voicemail for the first time on an iPhone, press and hold 1 on your phone to connect to voicemail. The voicemail app will not allow the initial setup. - If prompted for a password, use the last four digits of your phone number followed by the # sign.
- Follow the prompts to set up a new password.
- Once you've set up your new password, the voice prompts will guide you through the voicemail setup, including greeting options and security preference setup.
Accessing voicemail from another phone
Dial your number from the external line. When your voicemail greeting begins, dial *, and when prompted, enter the password.
Resetting the voicemail password
Forgetting your voicemail password can be a bit of a pain, and we've all forgotten a password or two in our time.
Luckily, there's an easy fix if you're using an X3 or X1 SIM card. Dial # 793 # to reset your voicemail password to the last four digits of your phone number.
