The steps below are just general directions. They may be slightly different depending on the version of iOS you have installed.

How do I perform a network reset?

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Select Transfer or Reset [Device]
  4. Select Reset
  5. Select Reset Network Settings
  6. One the reset has completed the phone will reboot itself.

How do I find a SIM card number?

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Select About.
  4. The entry titled ICCID is your SIM card number

How do I check VoLTE and HD Voice?

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Tap Cellular.
  3. Tap or slide the Cellular Data switch to On.
  4. Tap Cellular Data Options.
  5. Tap Voice & data.
  6. Tap LTE, VoLTE ON, or toggle VoLTE to the ON position.

Note: iPhone users with iOS 12 or older releases can enable VoLTE through Settings > Cellular > Cellular data options > Enable LTE > Voice & data. If Voice & Data has a check next to it, VoLTE is enabled and ready for use.

How do I check network operators?

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Cellular
  3. Select Cellular Network or Network Selection
    1. This option only appears while traveling outside the US
    2. Steps may vary depending on OS version, device model and location
  4. Select Automatic Switch to turn off
  5. Once available networks appear, tap the desired carrier
    1. Allow up to 2 minutes for carrier listing
  6. Look for signal bars or carrier name on the display to indicate connection to the network.

How do I perform a software Update?

  1. Back up your device
  2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet or WIFI
  3. Go to Settings
  4. Tap General
  5. Tap Software Update
  6. If you see more than one update available, choose the one that you want to install
  7. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap install now.

How do I reset network settings?

  1. Select Settings.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Select Transfer or Reset.
  4. Tap Reset.
  5. Choose Reset Network Settings.

How do I enable visual voicemail?

  1. Open the Phone app.
  2. Tap the Voicemail button.
  3. Tap Set Up Now.
  4. When prompted, enter a passcode.
  5. Select Default to use the standard visual voicemail greeting, or Custom to record a message of your own.

How do I enable Wi-Fi calling?

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Phone.
  3. Select Wi-Fi Calling.
  4. Enter or confirm your address for emergency services (E911).

How do I enable Group MMS?

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Select Messages.

  3. Once enabled, group messaging will work between iPhones and Androids.

How do I enable iMessage?

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Select Messages.

  3. Enable iMessage.

How do I Erase an E-SIM from an iPhone?

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap either Cellular or Mobile Data.
  3. Tap the plan that you want to erase.
  4. Tap Delete eSIM.

How do I de-register iMessage?

  1. Transfer your SIM card to your iPhone.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Tap Messages.
  4. Turn iMessage off.
  5. Go back to Settings.
  6. Tap FaceTime.
  7. Turn FaceTime off.

If you no longer have the old iPhone, you can submit a request to deactivate iMessage.

How do I back up an iPhone?

While connected to data or WIFI:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap your name
  3. Tap iCloud
  4. Tap iCloud backup
  5. Tap Back Up Now, stay connected to your WIFI network until the process ends. Under Back Up Now, the date and time of your last backup is shown.

How do I perform a factory reset?

  1. Tap Settings app.
  2. Select General.
  3. Scroll down to Reset and tap.
  4. Tap Erase All Content and Settings.
  5. Enter the passcode (if applicable).
  6. Tap Erase iPhone.
  7. Tap Erase iPhone again.

OR

The phone can also be remotely erased if Find My iPhone is activated:

  1. Sign into the iCloud account.
  2. Click Find My iPhone.
  3. When the map comes up, click the All Devices drop-down at the top of the page.
  4. Select the correct device.
  5. Click Erase iPhone.
  6. If you are selling the device or is sure that it's lost, click Remove from Account.
